“How to Enjoy the Holidays Without the Overwhelm”

Making It Truly the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The holiday season can be both the most wonderful time of the year and also the most stressful. In this article, I’m sharing three ways to make this time of year special and prevent holiday burnout.

1) Prioritize what truly matters to you and don’t be afraid to say no.

It’s tempting during this time of year to try to do absolutely everything. While there may be certain responsibilities you can’t avoid, there will also be things you need to decline. Don’t feel obligated to take on everything that comes your way unless it’s something you know you can handle and genuinely want to do.

When it comes to presents and gift-giving, communicate with loved ones about what feels comfortable for you this year. Don’t overextend yourself unless it’s something you’re willing and happy to do.

2) Take breaks from social media and be present with loved ones.

Social media has its place, but don’t miss out on making real-life memories! You can take pictures and save them in a special “social media folder” on your phone to post later when you’re ready.

For content creators, remember that engagement during the holiday season may fluctuate. Don’t let it stress you out. Create content that feels meaningful to you, and post when it feels right.

3) Prioritize self-care, mental wellness, and taking care of YOU.

Self-care may look different during this busy season, but even five to fifteen minutes can work wonders. Whether it’s in the morning, during a lunch break, or in the evening, find what works best for you. Keep self-care a priority and ensure you’re filling your own cup.

Taking time for yourself is essential for making the holidays special and thriving during this season.

These are just three ways to help make the holidays truly the most wonderful time of the year. Merry Christmas to all—may this season be joyful, peaceful, and everything you’ve hoped for!
